Autonomous Interactive Radio is an experiment in non-traditional uses of analog frequency modulation (FM) broadcasting. A combination of analog transmitter technology, low cost hardware, and free software, will allow members of local communities to determine what will be on the air with only a radio, mobile/computer, and internet connection. The traditional top down structure of radio is replaced with a horizontal model where the disc jockey as intermediary has been removed.
